* Happy Mardi Gras!

Happy Mardi Gras!Everybody. We were at Mardi Gras in 1990 and 1991. We took an Ambassadair (Travel Club) one day trip. We left at 6am, got there by 8am and was on Bourbon Street by 9am.

We discovered Joe’s Stuff (creole spice) from the New Orleans School of Cooking. We had Craw Fish Etouffee, picked up some Voo Doo dolls and ate at the Port of New Orleans. That is where Blaze, the stripper, met the Governor of Louisiana (shown in the movie Blaze with Paul Newman). We visited Storyville. A few years after we were there Jimmy Buffett put in a Margaritaville CafĂ© in the building. It has moved to 1104 Decatur Street now.

WebCams are posted so you can watch the festivities.

So go to Yats, or Mudbugs and have some Cajun Food, some Cajun Music today and Enjoy Life!!! EeeeAhhhhh!!!.

Super Photo During Inaugeration

Check out this Gigapan of the inauguration.
43 Close ups have been isolated in the huge picture. When you click on any of the 43 close ups at the bottom - the software will pan in on that spot of the photo.I like to click on snapshot 32 to pan in on the guys on top of a far away building.

My father-in-law, Eugene Roeschlein shared this link with family & friends.
He said, - This gigapan technology makes for some incredible images!
Stereographers love to roam around still images and explore - it's a
unique feature of 3d photos - but the same feature can be attributed
to a good gigapan. (In the inauguration image, pan to the far right
edge and zoom to horizon - what does it look like to have 1 million
people in a photo? It can't even be described, you have to see for
yourself.)

More Advertising Options - Affiliates

I'm also Reseraching the Affiliate Programs. I found a Video about Blog Affiliates. Commision Junctions and LinkShare are familiar to me. Here is a Video about what to consider when setting up Blog Affiliates. It is 5min:53sec. I plan to keep Affiliate Blogs and AdSense Blogs seperate. That's what I heard in the video.

Advertising Options

I am Researching “How To Setup AdSense”. Video Advertising Solutions is one I found that shows 3 options available. Play the video that is 2min:56sec long. My research is a Work In Progress. I'm still researching. Becoming a Partner should drive more traffic to your site.

Janice Numbers Memorial

Janice Florence Numbers - March 19, 1918 - February 1, 2009.

The memorial for Janice Numbers was February 6, 2009.
Her son Jeron delivered a warm heart-felt eulogy. He conveyed how her door was always open to the people in the neighborhood. The interment was at Enon Cemetery. It is across the street from where her parents David & Imo Shellabarger lived.

30 Years of Sunday Morning

The CBS Sunday Morning Show celebrated 30 years of broadcasting this morning (Feb 1, 2009). I found one segment particularly interesting because it showed how media had changed since 1979. Take a look and watch the video segment embedded here. There is a 15 second commercial in front of the segment I want to share. I can't control that. Listen to how things have changed just in the last 5 years too.

Quilting During Cabin Fever

Artistic Outlets come in many forms. Sewing straight lines are easy. Putting a puzzle together is fun. Creating a beautiful masterpiece is rewarding. You can have all this during the season of "cabin fever". Indianapolis got 12.5 inches of snow today. It was the 3rd largest snow fall in recorded history for Indianapolis. I stayed inside and quilted.

Jinny Beyer is one of my favorite fabric designers. The texture printed on her fabrics really catch the eye. The color blends are very pleasing too.

I have gone to The 18th Annual Indiana Heritage Quilt Show for over 10 years. This quilt show makes a fun retreat because it offers quilting classes along with prize winning quilts on display.

There are eBooks available to help you learn new techniques like The Essential Guide to Quilting. I think I have so many unfinished projects because I like to learn the technique and move on to the next project.

Vintage Quilt Patterns are an easy place to start. Quilting is good therapy too. You cut for awhile. You sew for awhile. When it all comes together you get to say - I Did It!!

So enjoy those winter months making a nice blankie for next year and keep your mind and your hands busy during cabin fever season.
